The Holidays Officially Begin

Thanksgiving has come and gone. We did the family tour, having dinner at Sonya's parent's house, then at my dad's house. I tried to be good, limiting myself to reasonable helpings at each stop :)

We actually got off out butts and did something productive with the kids on Saturday, trekking into San Francisco to checkout Union Square. We took BART, which was Ry & Karsyn's first time taking the train into the city. I think Ry enjoyed it more. It was a train after all.

Hockey Time

IMG_1268

Took Ryan to the hockey game on Saturday night. He's become my hockey buddy, since Karsyn seems to have lost interest in attending games, and Sonya would rather spend her free time anywhere except a hockey rink. He's actually a pretty good person to take to the games, since:

a) I can keep him occupied with a simplecotton candy

and

b) he actually watches the game (unlike his sister, who spent most of the game tracking down the cotton candy vendor).

His favorite players are "Joe Forton & Jonafan Cheechoo". We had hoofed it up to our seats on Saturday night (last row in teh upeer deck), when a guy in one of the luxury boxes behind our seats flagged me down. He had apair of tickets in the lower bowl at the blueline that he wasn't using and asked me if I'd like to have them.

He obviously picked me out of the crowd because I had a little kid with me, but I thought the gesture was very nice. I accepted them , so Ry and I spent the entire game sitting in the lower bowl in great seats. The Sharks lost in the shootout, but it was still cool to catch a game so close to teh action.

Belated Halloween

These are a couple of weeks late, but here are some of the Halloween photos from this year. Karsyn was Hermione Granger (from Harry Potter) and Ry was a fireman.

My back was a mess that night, so I stayed home and passed out candy, while Sonya took the kids out with our friend Jessica. Sonya even took over pumpkin carving duties this year.
